Just paid the garage fee's - the chap there reckoned the engine needed all the pistons re-boring... My best man will be moving it to somewhere nearby shortly (and getting those extra pics). As I wont be able to sell her here, I'll be aiming at eBay in the next couple of days - will reply to this thread with a link to the ad for all interested parties.
Thanks again people!

If you was closer id take on the challenge of a rebuild to restore it to its original glory.

It's a 40, it's rare as and needs to be saved, not raped for parts...

A white 40 too, proper rare. This needs saving

Yes the 40 is a desirable LE, infact my favourite of all, but it does not get round the fact that to achieve the value which a good condition vehicle of this nature should... it needs not an insignificant sum being spent on it, so the end result will be, the more that it actually costs to purchase, the more likely it'll end up in bits.

Just because a Mini is rusty and is a non runner, that makes the only option to break and destroy it?
Especially as rare as this.
Glad job we all don't think this or there 'd be none left.
If it was in Manchester I would save it - I don't bullsh1t

I do love the remarks which always accompany this sort of thread... especially the ones which infer a desire to "save" a vehicle, but are then followed by, if I had the time, money, where with all to get off my arse and do something...

Thats an odd logic or a catch 22 scenario.....I'd of thought the cheaper the price the more chance of someone gaining a fast buck by scrapping it and selling off the parts.
Hopefully its rare enough that someone will put the time/money and effort into it.
I dont have the garage space/time/know how or enough lager to take it on
