Hi webby

This is a link to my build.....
http://www.theminifo...ed-mini-thirty/
You can also look at my website http://www.mini30.info/ for more detail and more info on the mini 30 and the history etc.
There are lots of good builds you can see on here too, there is a guy called graham and his thread is 'my virgin build of. 83 Mayfair' or something like that. His work is excellent and he was a novice like us haha. There is another you may also way to look at, 'project cliff the cherry red mini 30' is also a great one. These are just a couple that I find interesting.

apparently you can use flashing tape (for house roofs etc) I've not used it myself though. there is a company I have seen called wolsey or something that do all sound proofing fabrics etc.

That looks like a pretty tidy shell, though is that a little bit of paint blistering by the air vent socket? It's worth investigating from the other side, it's a common rust trap. There are lots of phosphoric rust converters like the one mentioned earlier, they all work in the same way to convert rust, they won't do anything for good steel. A zinc rich primer will help to inhibit rust from taking hold, cover it with something tough that will resist chipping which exposes the steel to the atmosphere - polyurethane based coatings work well.
