That's the correct prefix for a Morris Cooper, the photos will help confirm if it's a Cooper shell, if it is a 62 car you may well have a 997 Cooper upgraded to S specification, a nice find

box is a 12g1128 sadly not a 333 or 190

We need more pictures to value it,
Interior,
Boot area
Engine spec / numbers etc.
Does it have the original 7"disc brakes?

It's most definately a 1963 registration and with the date stated as 1962, if that was or should be 1963 then it was probably originally a 1071 'S'. Let's have the body number and we'll all know for sure.
A lot of 1071's had 1275 'S' engines fitted later as it was a popular thing to do in the 60's.
It sounds as though you have a good car whatever it is. Even if it turns out to be a 1962 Cooper re-built to full 'S' spec it'll look like an 'S' and go like an 'S' and have a registration number which would be the right suffix for an 'S'.

hardy spices
im told its standard engine rebuild it starts first time ticks over nice no smoke rattles knocks good oil pressure no numbers on it.
interior is ruff as a dog ++++. front seats are not original. looks kinda complete
boot is rusty but solid.

i think im going to put a new floors thoughout inc boot. they have been welded lots over the years. and its been cut out for a webber

Hardy-Spicer drive shaft couplings were standard from January 1966 and one might guess that they were changed when the 1275 engine was fitted.
Body number will be in the log book (V5).
Now we all want to know!
