Also has anyone got any pics of an engine like this?.
Originally i was going to supercharge a standard 1400 and try to fit twin su carbs but from what i was told it would be very hard. As i live at work with no bills, girlfriend etc... money is not really a problem so i thought an 8port would make it easier to mount them?
cheers se

However if money isnt an issue, how about a 16V KAD engine, with jenvey injection? Force racing turbo'd theirs, stupid amount of power...

the above options would be great, if it has to be supercharged then a rotrex supercharged 16v KAD/specialist components engine with a loopy parts list..
just remember with no budget you can quickly run up massive bills and end up with a car/engine that is both undrivable at low speeds and dangerous at above that

The reason i want to do this is... its something i've never seen before. I'm a big fan of the weber carbs and 8 port heads so its just something to stand out and impress. Hyabusa's are fast but *yawn* its just another conversion i've seen to much of.

If it were me I would look into a charger, and 16v head of some kind, 1293 with uprated bottom end, make it a fairly hot engine but still driveable.

the power is not a thing i want really... i just want it to turn heads... the car will be in the garage around 99% of the year.

The issues I perceive with charging an 8-port are as follows:
1) there is no cam available off-the-shelf that would be suitable. so you'd need to comission one, would only be a few hundred pounds, but you'll need to specify the profile.
2) How big can you get the chambers in the head, 26 to 28cc would make life easier when choosing pistons
3) If you turbo you'll need a manifold made, again, not a big deal but will cost a few hundred notes.
4) Make sure you buy the non-race 8-port with the smaller valves

my sugestion would be to use the specialist components 7 port head (as wil above has done) as you'll be able to get a turbo exhaust manifold off the shelf, and also a plenum.

i had a special cam made up for it.
if you are serious about this and have some cash available mbe will do it for you, they did mine and cannot fault it. mike really loved doing this installation, and has talked about doing an 8 port.
