talking to a mate today, he asked if I flash/salute other Mini owners, I said I do, even if I'm in the toyota, then he asked do I flash BMW "MINI" and I said nope, he thinks I should, on the grounds, Maybe they'd love a mini, but feel a modern car would be better suited, so they go for the nearest thing, a BMW Mini.....

got me thinking, I said I would if they flashed first, because you dont know, if just some girl with huge sunglasses, thinking I'm warning her of a road check up ahead :D

I live in essex, so pretty much all the girls are driving a new MINI; Personally I wouldn't flash a MINI not because I have anything against them but because I don't think the owner community is quite as existant and friendly (nerdy) as the classic community.

Owner modified New MINI's often flash each other today and most MINI's did for the first year or two after launch back in 2001 but (as with the classic Mini in the 1960's and 70's) it is now impossible due to the sheer popularity and numbers on the road........as said your flasher stalk would break with over use!

Back in the 1970's when I first had a Mini most of us had Mk1's which did not even have a headlamp flasher stalk anyway........and leaning forward to flick the toggle light switch on/off was impossible if you wore a static seat belt..........

No .......the Fiesta/Corsa were not designed at Longbridge/Gaydon by Rover engineers in conjunction with John Cooper, are not built at Cowley, Oxford the site of the Morris Mini factory and do not carry the Mini badge into the future.......so no connection.

It depends how far your going with that as an air cooled VW camper, looks very similar to the new ones they have from Brazil. Or do you mean Type 2 vs T25, T4... and other VW's

I think the Vw scene is just more accepting as there is not just one VW made, whereas there is just 'one classic mini made'

I like the new Mini however I probably wouldn't flash one unless they flashed me.

I do as we have 2 MINI's. Some flash back some dont. I always flash Classics too. Get the middle finger alot which sucks. Funny tho when I flash the same classic owner when out in poppy and they flash/ wave back. I wonder if they ever realise they gave me the finger only the day before......

Why would you do this? It makes no sense.
