- still trading?

Hi folks of the West Midlands...

We have our Mini with the guys at Midland Mini Clinic, but tried to get in touch with them today for an update and found a) their website down and b) their phone not ringing.

I'm not exactly local so struggle to get to their workshop.

Anyone know whats happening? (I've beeen dealing with James - Beej123 on here).

Thanks
Naomi

Hi Naomi,

I am really sorry to read you have been involved with the Midlands Mini clinic & James - as per Jordie's link you can see I was unfortunately also involved with what I consider as very unprofessional people.

The fact my legal court case against them has beeen judged in my favour (without any reaction from their side) tend to confirm my opinion - I am trying to recover funds which have been paid back in February 2012 for a vehicle which should have been delivered March 2012.

Good luck with your project, I really hope you won't need to take the legal route like I had to.

Hi guys, I'm having what you could say to be a most unpleasant experience, I have my first brought mini in the midlands mini clinic, under the hands of James! I had endlessly struggled to get replies off him, and admit panicked when I read your forum, after the complete run around, I eventually got a response, his partner in business has left, probably due to the above link, and he's now working on his own. My car has been with them for four months and not much at all has been done, I was wrongly probably doing the pay as you go scheme, so here I am £1200 out of pocket, one payment left until apparent completion, and worried!!! Apparently my car is to be sprayed this week, and the work will move quicker now! I hope!!! I will update as soon as I go up to see my mini and James on Saturday fingers crossed, I'm honestly just hoping this is a case of a poor guy getting screwed over by his business partner 😓

i think you will find its a case of his partner carl leaving james sinking ship.

the other issue resulted in a court case and now action is been taken to recover the money as per the court case.

i wouldnt listen to anymore promises and dates and get your car back. unfortunately you would have hoped they learnt a lesson but guess not.

im glad we banned them from this forum.

I don't think that's fair on Carl to be honest. The ship is most likely sinking because james is shooting holes in it.

James has absolutely no idea how to run a business. He's more than happy to accept people's work and then not pay them for it and it would seem that he's happy to take money and not do the work too. He'll make endless false promises to get you off his back.

I would go and recover your car so it's safe and then proceed with trying to recover your money through legal means. The less you have to do with James, the better.

From my dealings with them, James is the main person and the one pulling the strings. He didnt want to know or even make attempt to refund the customer who they were building a car for, as seen in the link above. The customer as now won a court case and attempting to recover funds through solicitors/baliffs.

Carl was more polite and approachable when speaking to him via PM to discuss the issue. It would appear carl was told not to say anything by James and thus stopped responding.

Both are now banned from this forum and should be shamed among the mini community.

I hOnestly don't understand people like this, taking on work taking money and obviously having no intention of completing it, James is yet again ignoring me!! My problem is the financial cost involved in going down the legal route, plus even if you win, getting any money back at all can be problematic! Well he may have a problem with me after all £600 went into his fathers account, wonder if he minds the police knocking on his dads door! I've luckily kept all emails, and the 2 reciepts he gave me along with bank statements showing money going into his dads account! Cant imagine his family will be best pleased with his behaviour, specially bringing his problems to the family door!!
