Go through your insurance. Unless he is willing to pay cash up front for repairs. Gets quotes wsap. If you go through your insurance they will most likely write the car off unless it has an agreed value.

The bloke who hit you has probably got £1000 excess, but this isn't really your problem!

Have a good look for creases in your boot floor around the subframe mount!

Where abouts are you?

to be honest i think you may have got off lightly looks like the outer body skin has took the wack & sort of folded in to the boot.
one of these http://www.minisport..._HMP441019.html
& a new boot is all you need (hopefully) :proud: fingers crossed

Feel gutted for you chap, been there in the past myself. Realistically that is going to be £1500-£2k repair as a new 1/2 back panel, bootlid, rear lights and bumper as a start is going to be £500 worth of new parts. Add in 20+ hours labour (there are a lot of spot welds to drill out/split) at £40-80 an hour plus paint, its not going to be cheap and could push it into write off teritory

You might be able to find a good bodyshop that could push and beat your rear panel into shape, which will be cheaper, but will you be happy having some filler in the back because ofsome one elses mistake?

As it is gold, it is giong to be difficult for them to get a good colour match so it will need a repaint to get it back to 100% (assuming your paint was good before).

I wouldn't let the other party get it repaired for you, could end up being 2nd hand panels and packed with filler job, and could take a longtime to get it done too.

I would go through your insurance, and choose the repair agent your self. And don't let them take your car off for inspection. They will have mobile engineers and insist that they send one out so that you can decide what to so (rather than your car sitting in a compound some were gaining storage charges ect).

Always go through insurance no matter what happens. That is what it is there for!
Ive had experience and I know its much better to just go to your insurer straight away and let them sort it.
I hope its fixed up soon :-)

hard to say without seeing a full picture/in the flesh, but it looks like the rear panel would straighten up ok, all depends on what the boot floor is like though??

assume you're around north wales?
