well up for this idea!! makes it alot easier, it annoys me when i update my thread that within the hour its off the page!! ive started trying to leave it till abit later to update so that it stays there a bit longer, but then people still dont read it because its later at night!

This is the exact reason we need are own section in the projects area.

There are other areas of the forum that have a lot less traffic I'm sure.

Also when would it get implemented.

Is there some sort of AGM this sort of thing gets looked at?

I can tell you this is being discussed, although the implementation may not be exactly how you expect it.

Crossed wires AVV IT mostly me not explaining myself as usual.

If we had a LWB section in the projects section, we can always use that specific section for asking other LWB related questions IE tech, links and general chitchat i guess.

This is incorrect I'm afraid, the project sections are for project threads. Topics created for general chit chat or technical questions will be moved to the correct sections just the same as they are now.

If this was to happen, would it be possible for a mod to move my build thread into the new section?

Yes, if it did happen, we'd have to go through all of the old threads and move them around. This is why it's quite a big decision because it's a lot of work. There may also be people that have a van with a VTEC engine in it, but want it to stay in the engine conversions section rather than the LWB section.

As Deathrow has stated, the proposed layout would simply be for LWB project threads, not chat/technical problems, bodywork issues etc. Those threads would belong in the relevant sections elsewhere on the forum. This is one of the reasons I personally don't think it's going to work very well.

Understand that we wont be getting a complete new section Deathrow, The Matt put me in my place on this earlier in the thread, I just have a short term memory you see.

The campaign has moved direction to having a LWB projects section in place so that we (LWB owners) can follow existing and new projects easier.

I appreciate that it's a lot of work finding then moving all the relevant threads, I do however believe the forum would be all the better for it, well for the LWB folk at least.

It is a lot of work but if it's right we are happy to do it.

It is an area that needs care in dealing with though as the Projects section of TMF is incredibly popular.

Arrrrrrrrrrr ok!.... but you see, if I had a relievent question regarding something on my van that does not relate to a saloon. Would I not be able to ask that question within my build thread and not have to start a new thread, thus keeping everything related to my build.

Currently if I asked a question in my build thread at the moment, it would get lost in the 2nd or 3rd pages within a matter of moments. If I asked the question in my build thread that was placed in a LWB project section, other LWB owners would be able to see it easier would they not?

If that makes sense.

The limit the work involved could there not be a cut off period IE if the thread has had no updates within 12 months it gets left were it is?

Unless the thread owner comes forward and asks it to be moved.

It's not all that simple but we're working out the best way to do it if we do it.

Hmm, regarding my own project, I'm not sure the lack of response is due to the amount of other posts, or just because it's not that interesting >_< .

I agree to the idea that the LWB project section should not be used as a dumpster for all LWB-related issues. I should remain to be a place for LWB builds. Whether you ask for help or tech info should be up to the owner of the thread.
