First real failure today, I was checking the alternator bracket when I noticed it had a bit too much movement. It's lasted 825 miles. I have beefed it up for the time being but I think I might have to have a complete rethink on the alternator as I'm sure it's going to fail again.

         Had a power run on the rolling road today. I was hoping for around 90BHP so was quite pleased. The Vauxhall quoted figures are 100BHP and 100FtLbs so it was pretty close to standard. I guess going from a twin downpipe manifold to a single saps a little power.

 

         It's a shame the torque curve is not a bit flatter and the power curve a little more progressive but it does still hit the numbers.

 

 93.8BHP @5750rpm / 103.5FtLb @3700rpm

No mate, they were not very helpful like that

Hmmm might be worth doing minispeed next time. Not much further to drive really
