i was at work today when a colleague called me over the radio and said someone was looking at my car.
i was to the entrance and see that he's not only looking he's sat on the drivers seat.

i run out and case him off, i almost managed to catch him but he jumped into a car that was waiting for him.

this was the about 5 this afternoon in a busy retail park car park in Birmingham where i work.

they weren't messing around, like i said there was one guy in a car waiting, another guy keeping looking out, and the chap in the (my) car. i got to within 5 feet a catching the scrote.

he has ruined the drivers door lock, all the steering cowling, the ignition barrel and even had the foresight to open my engine bay whilst the alarm was going off and rip out the speaker for the alarm, before getting back in to continue.

like i said this was the middle of the day in a very busy part of Birmingham.
i'd be very careful about posting "spotted" posts especially if the car in question is regularly seen in the same place.

i will fix MAGGIE but she will then be up for sale as i worried before but now its just not worth it.

Unless you were going to sell your car anyway it seems a real shame to be bullied into selling such a special car. Don't let the scum win!

Bad luck but at least you got there before it was too late and I would be installing a much more dangerous alarm system with flamthrowers ;)

but such a shame to have to sell your car but I can imagine its not as enjoyable now

I dont think i'll ever enjoy it like i used to.
i used to worry like mad about leaving it anywhere but in a busy car park in the middle of the day...

i dont think mini ownership will be the same.

sorry to hear this :( some people think its okay to just take what they want :@ hope you manage to fix her without too much expense :) the closest I've come to someone taking mine was coming out of college to find someone with the bonnet up trying to find something in there :s I m going to get an internal bonnet release and wire up the old catch to the horn, that should give em a scare ;)

my immobilizer did its job and slowed them down for long enough (clearly).
the fact they popped the bonnet to rip out the alarm speaker is outrageous.

if anyone wants a mini with a full tank of petrol (i filled up on the way to work this morning) and an MG metro engine, give me a shout.

police turned up eventually, and managed to persuade a forensic guy to come out.

i got the reg of the car which was a brown old renault megane scenic (im fairly certain) but it was on false plates that don't match any car in existence.

they dropped the screw driver thanks to me chasing him, which they used to pop the drivers lock. but im not holding my breath.
and my insurance wanted to class a recovery as a fully fledged claim to come and pick the car up. you can guess what i told them to do.

cheers paddy, i had spent the past couple of weeks having "serious" talks with the misses about getting rid of it for a sensible car now insurance is realistic on any car now im 25.

i was going to wait for the decent weather and hope it made me change my mind but now ive lost all motivation to have anything which others desire. (except for my body ladies ;D )
