Hi all,
I've been looking for photos of minis on 12" steelies, but with a difference...
I know that many minis came with 12" steelies as standard, but has anyone ever banded them to say 5" or 5.5" wide?

Any photos would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks for those pics, and although I've seen them before, they're still good for inspiration (:

I've never seen a set for sale, but I was thinking would it be worth it buying four individual spare wheels which go for nothing on eBay and then trying to get them banded and powder coated?

I know these are metro wheeks, but still 12", banded to 7x12, the black hub caps will fit mini steels too, you just need tge retaining clips

If you want the guys number, pm me, they cost £45 a wheel to be banded

Thanks for the info, I'm just trying to gauge how they'd look on a mini because it's not something you see often. I'm trying to work out if it would be achievable to buy and band steel wheels for around £150

There's a guy on ebay that will make banded steels at £45 a corner if you were interested, and powdercoats for an additional £45 a corner (pretty expensive compared to other powdercoaters I've used in the past).

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item2329c7b47c

Just make sure you go for steelies with 4x101.6mm PCD (not 4x100mm).

Its been done! Looks good... However what is the obsession with calling them Steelies? Makes then sound line a trading card game to me. Steels breh!

Its because thats what they are, plus steelies sounds better than just plain old steels lol (and it sounds more like a term we used to use in marbles when someone had a ball bearing instead of a marble, making it a steelie!)

Ive used Damien at Banded Steel Wheels to do mine (theyr 10" reverse rims) had them banded to 10 x 6.5

IIRC Chalky has 12 x 5's on that?

Hm, not sure whether I can justify getting them banded to 1 inch more for £45 a corner :(

Personally I think it'll be a waste of money
