Hi folks,

My car failed it's MOT yesterday, i'm working through everything, one of the things it failed on was offside dip beam not working...

It was working the night before, but recently i've noticed it hasn't been working properly, sometimes it doesn't turn on then half way down the road it turns on...

I have began to think it's either an earth problem or one of the cables is shorting out near the inner wing, because when i 'wiggle' the loom around near the inner wing, the dip beam turns on and off...

Would it be the dip beam live shorting out or the earth?

Thanks,

Iain

Are all the connections clean and when connected tight together?

check the wiring behind the front grill, normally the culprit. pull the bullets apparts spray some wd40 into them,,push back together.

they catch a load of road grime there doesn't do them any favours.

Cheers guys!

I have now cleaned up the bullets and connectors and the earth at the back of the headlight had an awful connection! So i have now got a new terminal on that.

Everything seems well at the moment, just hope it doesn't play up at the MOT station!
