Im coming back again for this topic before it closes as i agree with Pikey its over the top like normal.

BMW Minis (AKA Binis) are still a mini by name even if not by nature, i do not wave to them myself, i did when i first got them but i got no wave of the other people as they just got the car for a car and not the Mini status, thats when i stopped, if a Bini flashed or waved at me id quite happily flash and wave back, at the end of the day they are a Mini and are carrying on the mini status. I do like them too but will never get one as there is not enough room in the back, less than a Classic Mini.

If people dont like the Bini then tough, they are here and here to stay, i for one are glad they are here keeping the mini name alive.

Now as ive read around putting your fingers up at Binis etc is not a very friendly attitude to have, you might as well get a kitted up corsa and be like that, many people have Binis so they can have a reliable day to day car that they can do many miles in a day and not worry about mechanical issues, the suspension is one, how many people have mot failiures for Ball joints.

Now cant we just get along, if you dont like the new mini then fine just have a friendly attitude towards them.

"Do any of you people vandalise BINIs at shows?" - Think i covered this already, if you'd care to read my post.

"Any of you people get abusive to BINI owners at shows?" - No, i think i covered this also. The small minority of Bini owners who go to shows are actually proud of thier cars and have invested time and money in thier creations. Not sure a MINI show is the placce for them though personally, maybe Max Power?? This is of course only my opinion.

And a further note on the getting abusive at Bini owners; i was at the Miniworld action day at Castle Coombe and was stood by a middle aged family with 2 young kids and upon a Bini going round the track in front of us and amidst the chorus of Boos and 'What's he doing on there' comments the Dad said to the kids "come on kids, what do we do?" and they blew raspberrys and boo'ed the Bini!

"invested millions and created thousands of jobs in Oxford and at their other British factories - ourtrageous that." - You have the wrong end of the stick here old chap, not sure you should talk on a subject that you clearly have little to no knowledge in. BMW robbed Rover for what they wanted on the promise that they would create jobs at Longbridge and employees jobs would be safe. They then upped sticks and moved to Oxford leaving 90% of the blokes at Longbridge without a job. I acknowledge that there is a small number of people who got jobs at Oxford under BMW, but at great personal caost to thier families (having to move etc). Furthermore, the Oxford plant used to be much bigger than it is now and BMW have cut that back also. They may well have invested millions, but they bent British industry over and rifted them at the same time.

"There's a word, xenophobia, that could and should be used to describe many posters here because that's what this is about, mentions of 'zeig-heil' being and example of the stock in trade of such garbage - the root of such attitudes being ignorance and insecurity plain and simple." - Another personal attack on myself and other posters on this forum. i am in no way, shape or form xenophobic and abhor being branded as such. The problem with people like yourself is that you are unable to distinguish between pride and passion and xenophobia. Aside from the little bit i have said on this forum, you have absolutley no idea of my history or personal circumstances and i take great exception to being branded a facist on an open forum such as this. And as for being labelled ignorant and insecure, perhaps this could be better applied to yourself. Anonimity is great isn't it for insulting people and making ludicrous and unfound accusations which normally would be consigned to the back of your tiny little mind.

Maybe you should buy the Bini and sell your MINI to someone more deserving.... :D
