Well he obviously has a mental problem, something many a BINI owner has I guess anyway,

Why?

but I'd love him to try that with me as i'd have also stuffed the mars bar up his probic vent! >:D

Now you're not suggesting he was a Sontaran are you? ^_^

Well Roga yes he seemed pretty evil considering his attitude anyway? >:(

But I was just having a laught about BINI owners in general as i'm not a fan of the car, so don't feel the kindred spirit towards them as such? :D

Total plonker I'd say but you can't judge all BINI drivers (and some do although I'm not saying you) as being the same - there are a decent minority who love the classic, some of whom also own at least one.

But I was just having a laught about BINI owners in general as i'm not a fan of the car, so don't feel the kindred spirit towards them as such? :D

Fair dos but as I say some are also classic drivers and fans so I think that should be remembered.

I'm a bit saddened by some of the posturing coming from other posters here (not your good self) and if they put their words into action it strikes me they could be the sort who vandalise cars and are abusive to their owners. In no circumstances do I think that's justified and I'm trying to redress the balance a bit by posting what I'm posting here (and mostly getting ignored lol).

However, at the end of the day it reflects the worse on the people doing the posturing (and whatever else they do) but I, and I know a great many other classic drivers, am frankly embarassed to be even vaguely associated with them.

To answer the question, I don't unless its in the following situations

1) the driver is a very very pretty young women

2) its one of the family friends or a mate (i tell them there car is lardy everytime i see them, they will understand one day)

At this point i would like to point out that i will always see if there is a real mini is sight, if the cost is clear i may wave for the above points. If a fellow mini driver is present i ignore

the following two points a real mini driver shold feel free to wave in a friendly manner to a Bini

1) When a Bini driver has come up behind you and flashed there lights to say hello and they wave, at this point you should wave then nail it towards the next corner and go hell for leather round it. A few seconds later the bini should appear wallowing its way round the corner. If the driver approches and again says hello, follow the next steps.

1) raise your left hand (or right for those lefty drivers)

2) wave in a friendly manner (or the bird for those non sporting types)

3) Bury your right foot in the carpet and find out just how good the the handling of your mini is (and in my case as i squeeled round a corner i wonderd in the back of my mind if those buget tyres were such a good idea)

4) once the bini driver is no longer in view (or has gone over a cliff --- for theatrical reasons only), feel free to relax

5) this is optional, but if the muppet has managed to get his bath tup back behind you ( you had to stop for 20 mins to have a cup of tea ....), repeat the previous steps till the Bini is not in view, now turn off that road and find a diffrent route....... A) its safest as the guy is a chump and may be a potential mars bar basher B) it will mess with there head C) going down a diffrent road than you ment to is a REAL mini adventure and oftern good little pubs can be found.

i noticed somthing (well somone pointed it out) on a mini run. all the new mini owners were in the pub while all the proper mini owners were out in the carpark. weird that,.

It seems particularly acute here, other places seem a bit more chilled out/adult (take yer pick kids :D ) about it to be honest!

Me the same too.

Perhaps all the Mini drivers looked like Yetis avatar and the pub wouldn't let them in, whereas the BINI drivers all spoke and dressed posh (because they're all really BMW drivers anyway ^_^ ) and got in? :(

To Me, Binis are a fashion statement and il usualy ignore them and let them be.. lets face it when there driving a Bini they dont need any further insult. I dont wave back to Binis even if they flash, its a nice compliment but they arnt in a Mini and therefore dont get a responce :D.
Think you held your nerve well mate against that yellow Bini driver, he was obvisly upset that he just spent 16k on a car that gets 0 respect ^_^, however standing up and saying right you can get me another mars bar woudnt have gone a miss :(

Only just seen this thread. And now i'm wound up beyond belief. This just illustrates the kind of :D who own Bini's.

No way would i wave at one and if the driver of one ever had the audacity to wave at me i'd provide them with a well known hand gesture.

My reason is stronger than just owning a mini. My old man used to work at Longbridge and those german ^_^ and that piece of :( are one of the biggest contributing factors for him having lost his job/pension etc after 27 years service. (I'll also concede that with a few notable exceptions some of the motors they used to push out were a bit sub standard by industry comparisons but the Bini, if made by Rover, (which could possibly mean it was a Rini) would have saved that place).

I'll have to stop there, sorry folks bit of a rant!!

Yeah we agree with you sheepo and i'll never forgive or forget what BMW has done to Rover, the Mini scene and one of my greatest passions too, yes the Mini. >:D

I visited the Longbridge plant in 1998 and I can't believe it's finished now after such a short time.

I was going to stop there as i just end up getting really wound up, but this is anotherr good example of the kind of morons who own Bini's:

My Mum's pride and joy is her '97 Mayfair which she drives to work everyday and 2 of the other bods at her work have Bini's. Whenever they see her car in the car park they deliberately park their Bini's as close as possible, sometimes one either side!! It's as if they're saying "look at me, mine is bigger and better than yours"! :D I mean how childish and i know for a fact they're not into the mini scene and have never owned a REAL Mini. It's like they're trying to say that there is some sort of class divide between the REAL Mini and the Bini. THERE IS NO COMPARISON!!! :( ;) :(

Must stop now, getting rather heated and need to calm down before the footy this afternoon!

Now, where's that Blood Pressure home testing kit??? ^_^

For God's sake. It's just another car, like any other car. Just ignore it like you do for every car and there you go - problem solved.

They don't wind me up in any way shape or form because I can be smug in the knowledge that I drive a Mini and they drive just another car.
