Hi everyone,
The choke mechanism is sticking on my standard 998's HS4 - it's the waxstat jet itself rather than the spindle or cable. When I pull it out the jet doesn't go back in unless I lift up the bonnet and push it in. Recently, the jet won't pull out at all even if I give the cable a good tug (trying not to break anything).
I had this problem when I first got the car a couple of months ago. Putting some oil on the linkage and jet cured it, but since then the carb has been taken off and cleaned at a garage and now it's back to sticking. WD40 hasn't helped.
Would more oil on it cure this again? Or is there something else that I should try first? It would at least pull out at first but now it's completely jammed. Luckily the engine starts and runs fine without it (if I let it warm up for a minute), but I'm worried about the effects of colder weather.
Thanks,
Glen
