i got my yokos from "minits" as they had the best price at the time.

i have got a set of maxxis 175 50 13s on my polished rims now, they were £225 from LTC, that was the ebay price, they are more if you go there and ask for them over the counter.

there is a guy who works there called jay who has a rover metro with a 1.8 16v motor in who was super carefull fitting the tyres which was nice as some folks just ram them on as fast as possible and bugger it if they scratch your wheels!

place in wales has them...

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item27d47f4426

LTC stourbridge...

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item20d8ff17fe

my old yokos were great and i got allot of miles from them, but i cant afford £70+ each for them so maxxis it is for me, the tread looks cool too!

Thanks for that
Well I think I'm gonna go for 175 60 13 as that what seems to be the preferred replacement for the hard to get 185 55 13 according to some internet searching.

I can get Yoko's fully fitted for 254 quid from blackcircles.com which doesn't seem like a bad price at all then

That's fitted at John Hall Tyres in Oldbury (by the sainsburys)

Gonna clean the wheels in the week and probably order the tyres as well ready to be fitted next weekend :)

Needs a service as well which I have all the parts for...just haven't got round to doing it

will look great with them on, are you going to repaint them or anything? i wondered if you were going to do them black or anything baddass like that

I'm not sure..

I might practice on the spare one and see what black looks like

I always thought black wheels look lost in the arches on any car so I might go for a dark grey
I'll have to have a think about it

I'm thinking of painting the wheels white? Maybe a pearl white like the colour you can buy a cliosport in

Or maybe the opposite direction completey and a nice gloss black

Opinions?
Front wheel I'm on about here as well

Someone over on metropower did these for me
Not sure...I kind of like the grey cause it matches the bumper inserts

Opinions?

Will probably stay silver :P

Someone on another forum gave me this idea
I kind of like it...painting the indents black so they look like more holes

Very subtle...only done with a marker on that pic

Set about changing the radiator today

IMG_20140315_155740.jpg

New vs Old...the corroded part is at the bottom when on the car..

IMG_20140315_163146.jpg

Managed to fit the new rad and get all the hoses back on but I wanted to clean out the expansion tank as its pretty dirty inside...

IMG_20140315_180947.jpg

This proved to be more difficult than I thought and I lost the light
Left it soaking to see if any of the muck will shift

I use dishwater tablets and boiling water which works well, Simons came up spotless, late Rover Mini ones seem easier to get perfect.

What thought would happen has happened

My once brilliant heater is no longer

I hate bleeding coolant systems

I followed the Haynes and filled up with bleed screws out
Put them back in when coolant started coming out

Tried to bleed the heater matrix since but the heater keeps blowing warm and then goes cool and stays cool

So next on the list is to sort this problem out...maybe I'll take the matrix hoses off and blast a hose through it and try and fill it with water

Who knows...

Also since the radiator change it seems to be overcooling now ...I'm not sure why but the gauge stays steady at 1/4 up and will only reach halfway on a long drive or in traffic.

Im glad it's not overheating but worried that its running too cool
Might just be driving too gently ;)

That leads on to another issue
Its always had a rough idle and isn't very responsive below 3k...which is normal I suppose as the power apparently doesn't come in until mid range but it takes ages to pick up and then top end doesn't feel like it's got much go
Something doesn't feel right at all, its had a full service apart from the coil and fuel filter

Got a fuel filter coming and don't think running too cool is helping

Also got an incline the cat might be partly clogged as sometimes it smells a bit funky

This thread is more for me than anything...I know its a miniforum but if there are any K Series experts out there...give me a shout

I think the engine has had a very easy life...56k in nearly 20years
Maybe I need to give it a nice motorway blast?

My plan for today was to fit my front anti roll bar and stainless steel exhaust manifold and exhaust

Took my old exhaust off which is in really good shape but hey ho

Then I fitted my anti roll bar which took a lot longer than expected but got there in the end...just got to torque everything up

Tomorrow I've got to take the old manifold off and then I can crack on with fitting the new exhaust..hopefully

Ended today very cold and with my eyes full of rusty shyte from lying under the car...not good

Okay so haven't done much since I last posted

Got some Gti Spi lattice wheels refurbed to ready to fit...waiting for cash to buy some Yoko's

IMG_20140708_105743.jpg

I fitted MGF geometry to the front suspension
So steering rack(MGTF)
Lower ball joints
Steering arms
Track rod ends

It has improved my steering and feedback
I think I need to lower and individualise now to get the full benefits

IMG_20140712_135159.jpg

IMG_20140712_143031.jpg

Also changed the lower arm bushes while I was at it

Started to work on the mini...only removed the old sound deadening ATM

IMG_20140808_160357.jpg

Main issues is the inner sill? The vertical bit has a hole in and pretty much the same the other side

And one shot of the metro all clean and the mini as it stands
