The actual arches I'm happy with...its just where they meet the back panel

That's not a great area to have rust but it's fixable mate! The more rusty Metros I see the more I start to think mine must've been garaged for its early life since it's solid as a rock

The mirrors I have are boggo black ones, uncolour coded by the way. I will reply to your PM in a bit.

Yeah I can't find anymore rust as bad as this

A few scabs but I don't care about them lol

The front us great looks like it's been stone chipped..maybe done before
The arches also have paint runs so hace either Been done properly or been fillered lol

I want to get the back sorted though...

That's fine aswell I'll just swap the covers from mine to yours...need respraying anyway so

Okay so could anyone tell me whether this panel is needed?

http://www.carbodypa...ear-panel-lower

There seems to be like a closing panel behind this panel... That's also rusted

Some advice on how to go about getting rid of this rust would be greatly appreciated

:D

Does anyone know if this rust would fail an MOT or not?

It passed an MOT last year out of my ownership and there is no way it has rusted like this in a year, is there?

Rust will fail an MOT if it is within 150mm of any structural mounting/component

Cheers the effects have made it look better than it is

Up close the paint isn't that good
Does shine well though

Thinking of removing the rub strips as one side has faded and is coming off

Found a local red metro being broken so hopefully it will have good wings I can use

Are 5door front doors smaller than 3 door front doors?

I would keep the rub strips mate, especially on a GTA. They're rare colour coded, and they normally get bent during removal making them almost impossible to source.

Yeah, much smaller :P

Sometimes I forget that I can't just go to minispares and buy brand new parts lol

At the moment its as standard as a GTA comes apart from a head unit

Thought that would be the case..oh well

Bought myself a set of Spi Gti lattice wheels

Tyres are well treaded but nearly 14 years old
I think some fresh Yoko's are in order here :D
