My car isnt particularly low -

while it doesn't sit on the bump stops it is very close. I imagine that when I am in the car the extra 75kg does make it sit on the bump stops.

Some pics of the bump stops -

Is the car too low?

Mate raise it asap, you need at least 1" clearance, with no clearance like this suspension has not enough travel to work properly and can react in a dangerous way.

You can shorten the bump stops by cutting them to allow a lower ride height but i wont reccomend this on a road car because the balljoints will be forced to operate at the wrong angle,  potential failure can occur so better to keep it a bit higher than that.

Cheers for the reply (again)!

Yeah I guessed it needed raised. Will do tomorrow, I just wondered, as you can see the car isnt particularly low.

it might be that your running 10's with quite large arches, so to fill them a bit the only option would be lowering, so while it doesn't look that low its lower than standard cause of the arches? does that make sense to anyone or am I talking gibberish?

Your right rob, the car looks like a german spec sportpack so the wheel arches are trimmed to 13" wheels and bigger arch extensions are fitted

Once you fit 10" wheels you lower the car to close the gap..

Yeah I think you are both right. Under the "bullet" arches there is about 4cm of the metal original arch there. In an ideal world you would move the plastic arches down.

Saying that there is also a good 3cm gap between the tyres and the metal arch

^that 3cm gap between the tyres and metal arch is as a result of it being cut back from factory for 13" wheels (sportspack bodyshell)

You only really need 10mm clearance at the bumpstop and my cars not really that low, the ride height with 1" clearance between the bumpstop and the top arm would be crazy high.

At standard ride height you have 1" gap between top arm and bump stops

Well with 10mm between the bumpstop and top arm, I have about 2.5" of clearance between wheel and arch.

With 1" clearance at the bumpstop I think this would easily be 4" + and would just look ridiculous

Guess work.

If I more than double the bumpstop clearance, the ride height is going to go up massively.

Ok well heres a pic of mine for comparison. Rear is slightly higher, and i've got 10mm clearance on the bumpstops, which gives me a bit over 2" clearance between arch/tyre.

Just to clear it up, the ratio for adjusting front hi lows is about 1:3 so for every millimetre you change it at the hi low, the other end of the arm will be adjusted by 3mm
