Spent some moire time fine tuning the height adjustments. It is a real pain!

Annoying that my front geometry will be (may be out), i will need to get that checked (though i only raised it 1cm)

Anyway the finished result. As said above the ride is nice and smooth now. So all in all pretty happy.

bit of a hijack but are you still on standard height shocks or lowered?

Actually the lowered! (gaz lowered)

There seems to be enough travel in them at this ride height. I had intended visiting http://www.calverst....per_lengths.htm and making sure.

Though all input welcome.

Thats not a dumb question at all.

I know theres the common misunderstanding that rolling radius are the same, i dont know exactly where it comes from, proably due to fact they're within a percentage of difference that makes the swap legal.

Anyhow thats incorrect, get wheels of different diameter and have a look youself. They're accutally bigger!!

If you make the maths it will turn out that:

A 12" wheel will make the mini sit about 0.7" higher

A 13" wheel will make the mini about 0.8" inch higher

(Tyre pressure will play his role though.)

PS:

Heres a compare-o rama for tyres, saves us to make all that maths for such a thing  :shifty:

What step are your front Gaz shocks set to with that bump stop gap?

If the radius of the wheel + tyre is the same though (as in exactly the same), then the centre of the wheel will be at the same point, regardless of wheel size.

Obviously the difference between the 10s and 13s etc is such that there isn't a tyre which can give an exact match for rolling radius, thus altering the centre point of the wheel and the ride height.

Not sure as there's anything legal to do with the rolling radius stuff, it just means the closer you can get, the more accurate your speedo will be without being recalibrated to the new wheel diameter.

Think about it, if the radius is bigger the car sits higher...

Just to clear it up, the ratio for adjusting front hi lows is about 1:3 so for every millimetre you change it at the hi low, the other end of the arm will be adjusted by 3mm

Only at the front the rear is 5:1.........

Correct, I did say front. Didn't think they were bothered about knowing th back ones. Although its the most frustrating thing lowering both sides by say 10mm then realising that one side donut settles higher. Takes so many tiny adjustments to get it sorted

What he is saying I think is that a 12" rim and tyre may not have a bigger rolling radius than a 10" combination -
