Hi guys thought I would add to this, as the cause of the sound has been found. Just incase anyone wants to know or has the same noise.

The noise is actually caused by a faulty ignition switch, and is not 'flicking back' by itself once the engine is running. This then stops the started motor from resetting and carries on going even after the engine has started, resulting in a horrible noise, and the sound of the engine working a little harded than it should. Easy fix new ignition switch or tweak the key back manually once the engine has started.

I couldn't believe it was something so simple making that unbearable noise.

I had the clutch looked at, and the hydraulics blead... it's helped and is definately easier to get into gear but occasionally it does put up a fight of getting into first still. I hear this is a common problem...?

Thanks for all your help!

Steven.
