Despite the poor weather i was able to do a little in the shed thanks to my freshly installed wood burner ;IMG_1359_zps5766e75f.jpg

As I'm planning to fit the engine at the weekend i thought i better get a move on with removing the fly wheel cover bearing races. Now removed and housing cleaned up iv put the new bearings in the freezer overnight. I just hope the Idler float comes within tolerance as new thrusts are pricey.

Cheers mate, the burner came in the scrap with a large fracture in it. i "v'ed " the crack out, welded it, replaced the glass  sealing rope and what a result !

Started to organise parts after work today to discover that iv lost the flywheel crank oil seal and Mini Sport forgot to add a washer for the primary gear. So my plans of fitting the engine in at the weekend have dissolved  ;( Luckily as with all builds theres always something to do !

Iv managed to fit the gear box to the block and the fuel system is coming on nicely. Ill take some pictures tomorrow once iv managed to do a little more !

Day off ! So been busy in the shed ;) Before fitting the flywheel housing i thought id better drill and tap an extra breather to the engine.I already have a breather on the timing cover but thought it wouldn't do any harm to have another one.

Wished i had a primary backing washer as id of had the engine in today ;(

Im very pleased on how the fuel system is coming on, I'd of had it plumbed all the way to the bulkhead but was short of pipe by 6" Gutted ;(

All in all iv had a productive day, hoping to get the sump guard fitted tomorrow. The dash board is my biggest problem, need to build or lend a sheet steel folder. My first attempt just won't do ;(

Things are not made easy with having the front cross brace, as i have done some measuring ill be sketching some dashboard designs tonight i think, wish me luck ;) i'll need it !

That's going to give you some serious fuel pressure issues mate!

I'd run both pumps in parallel but only have one pump on at a time, less pressure and you still have a backup pump.

Hi, I'm only intending on running one pump at a time and theres a regulator to keep things steady to the carb. Please tell me how will i get problems with pressure.

Oh that's fine then, if you were running both at the same time I'd say it would be a lot of pressure for the regulator to deal with.

Back to work this morning (in the shed ) ;)

Fitted a s/h heater system as the original was goosed

IMG_1372_zpsfae0946d.jpg

As I'm getting closer to fitting the engine, i am getting more and more concerned if i will acutely be able to get my weber, manifold and K & N in ?????????? I have taken a couple of photos and hoped someone reading this might help. Iv pushed the K&N tight to the back of the air box to give you an idea on how much room i have.
