My Distributor arrived over the weekend, the Chaps at H & H have excellent customer service. I recommend anybody who has a hot engine in need of a custom curve to contact these chaps rather than buying off the shelf !

Made the most of the good weather and got the Mini out to fit the arches. I had some bad news today ;( might have to wait up to another week before getting my thrust washer, really disappointed.

Finely bit the bullet and sent my Mini to my local aluminium fabrication company to have my dash made. Despite my efforts i was not going to get the result i wanted without having my own aluminium welder and  large sheet folder. I know i could of made a folder and bought wire and gas for my Mig  to do the job but it would of cost more than having one made.Once the car is built fabricating a sheet metal folder will be on top of my list of projects !! as it will come in handy for my next Mini Project :) on the look out for a early 60's saloon ;)

Look at what my kind neighbor gave me this morning :) They really don't make them like they used to !

Now that the mini has gone on holiday im lost on what to do of an evening, i even contemplated doing some DIY in the house !! So after that scary thought i decided to tidy the shed up instead and got the girls out on the quad. God only knows what ill do tonight :)

Please don't start   !!! :) I know its going to get beaten up something rotten but i can't help trying my best to do a good job of things. This is my first Mini Rebuild and  I'm really enjoying it ! definitely caught the bug ;) before i hit the rough stuff i am planning on visiting a couple of local car shows before all my hard work under the car will be un done. I will ! be careful which Rallies i enter, not all the stage events allow the smaller engined cars to run first :(

Once the car is built i'll be concentrating on entering Historic Rallies and local Road Rallies then see how confident Gary and i are we might enter a carefully selected Stage Rally towards  the end of the year. People keep telling me how the mini won't be competitive but its all about the buzz for me ! ;)

I totally agree with you mate, building a rally car too, if I get it up to anywhere near this standard I will be happy and won't be afraid to use it. just saying it looks so nice at the moment, testament to the op.

Yeh...I was just kidding fella.  I think it is better to build a neat rally car anyway as you'll keep it out of the scenery for longer...ha ha....famous last words!!!!!  Plus, with a really neat rally car, the scrutineers are less likely to pull the car to bits.

And after all, the kid (big kid in our case!) who has the most scratches on his toys enjoys himself the most!!!!
