What problems are you getting ?

Planet gears in diff dancing around on the pin rather than nice rotation.....4 pin diff here we come.

There is movement in the monster bearing on the 1st motion shaft too.....and the drop gears need shimming properly.

Think i'm going for a full gearbox rebuild.....must check budget though!!!!

I would.  Apologies for spamming the original thread a little here but I think my lastt statement is sound advice for any rally build....

I maintain that something caused that clutch failure, it hasn't gone on its own.  If the primary was free on the crank as you say, then in my eyes something else has caused the primary to stall and rip the centre out of the plate - possible something locked up in the 'box momentarily.  If you have doubts about the bearings and the diff now don't leave it - either convince yourself they're OK or fix them, otherwise it will be in your mind the whole time on the next event or 3!  And you'll be really pi$$ed if your suspicions were right.

Don't worry GraemeC....have convinced myself that all is not ok and doing the job properly.  Primary is free as a bird and came off easy (as you'd expect). I have a suspicion that the drop gears caused the issue as the noise from them is terrible....but i thought they were SC.....but they ain't....neither is any of the box (which is a shame!) so the noise must have been coming from somewhere.  Could also have been caused by a faulty clutch plate?

Hijack over.....Rhod's building a stonker so shame to sully it with A series disasters...until he has his own... >_<

Woooooooooo ! Sounds expensive ;( If i remember right the gearbox is going to cost about £400 as long as you are building it your self as i expect you are.Full Bearing Kit,Seals,Gaskets and 4 pin diff !!   Central Oil Pick up pipe ???

Thrusts for the idler aren't cheep either :(

By the time you service the Engine (cam kit) and other mods you won't be far off a Grand ;( I feel your pain

On the other hand your going to have a solid lump under the bonnet and should give you years of reliable service ;)

If you need any Maxsport tyres (12's) Demon tweeks always have them....and there isn't much in it in price too as there ain't any markup....I get £2.50 discount i think!!!!!

Whenever i've ordered them they've arrived next day.  Are you buying the rally (with ribbed sidewall) or grass track ones?

Iv paid £285.00 including delivery for 6 tyres so should not grumble ;) Not sure how efficient they will be during the dry summer months but will definitely be top notch during a typical welsh winter ;)

The grass ones are E marked, and at the price you have quoted they won't (shouldn't) be the reinforced sidewall ones.....same as i use though and mega soft. Prepare for odd handling when you first use them....rear feels very loose due to block movement.
