Excellent Picture Rob !!! The reason i went OTL was i lost Dip & Main beam Grrrrrr !! Managed to get the car to Service (Late) Bodged the lights up and then had one of my best driving experiences ever. Alun's sending me copies of the Time cards to see how far of the pace we were.

Excellent Event !! Still smiling ;)

Very Happy with how the Car preformed.

How do i get Copies of the Pictures Rob ? Cost ?

More pictures from the Rally !!

Found  the electrical fault that caused all our problems, i had removed the drivers side cigarette lighter as it was obstructing the cross bar (roll cage) along with the bulb holder which illuminated it.As we crashed down the contacts in the bulb holder arced and fused together. I'm glad i found the problem ;) Just goes to show how the smallest of things can cause a whole heap of trouble.

The car seems to run a little hotter than i would like so the next job is to fit an electric fan and oil cooler. Luckily i have used units on the shelve so just need to plum them in tonight once iv had the hoses made.

Good choice of spots.

Did the number in the back window not do your head in though? Suppose it stops people behind blinding you.

I have no reason to look through the back window whilst on a rally, my full attention is given to looking through the front one :)

Did not have any problems with blinding..................nobody got close enough Ha Ha !!

37 Days to go until our next event. As long as im quick enough to get my entrance in ! PK Rally, Bala, North Wales it is !!!!!

Regs are not yet available but i'm told there's a Classic Category which should suit the Mini ;)

We will be better prepared this time for certain and i would of had more time behind the wheel.

Very Excited !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To protect under the car, ill be using thicker stuff to plate either side of Rear Silencer and under Rear Brake Pipes.

Wouldn't have thought 2mm alloy would be up to much and if you've put the lines and battery cable inside you're not really protecting much other than the paint....which on your super neat car is fair enough.

Definately try and skid the rear subframe and battery box areas. I might change my rear brake pipes to aero braided stuff with a banjo fitting and run them up and over the hub rather than how the standard ones stick out in a vulnerable way....might be worth considering?

Ride height is your friend on the PK in a mini i reckon.....heard a few comments about last years event.

If you want a pair of free front door glass to replace yours let me know....got a couple somewhere and i'll be over your way soon.

Almost finished prepping the car for the PK

Why i leave things to last minute i'll never know ;}

Hope to lend a mates 4 post lift to fit some much needed under armour !

Now that i have clocked up some miles since my last Rally i hope i have now found and dealt with the post build glitches. I now know by experience no matter how much power your car has or how well it handles without lights your going no where fast !

If there is anybody reading this and building a car for a sillier purpose DO AWAY WITH ORIGINAL LIGHTING LOOM/CIRCUIT AND  CONSTRUCT YOUR OWN !! Ensure both Main and Dip beam have there own independent fused supply N/S and O/S.

Wish me luck ;)
