Well a SW5 from Swiftune will be almost like a 850 cam...

But with doing this, I'd worry about the torque, as it could do a lot of damage!

na i wouldnt do it anyway lol would be a right ******* in traffic i think ill stick to my 286 lol

ive decided today that im going to be putting the gear linkage inside the car which means i can go even lower and also im thinking of having braided hoses coming straight inside through the center of car for the brakes should look cool

Actully I think you've got it wrong...

an 850 cam is designed by Austin to give as much torque as it could, due to it being in a very small bore engine. The Kent 286 will be more of a *Female doggy* in town, than a 850 cam lol

With an 850 you'll get a very smooth torquey engine, AC Dodd Has built a 1380, designed only for torque, and well he's close to balancing a £1 coin on top, whilst running.... (like a rolls engine )

but hayho, tis your enigne, the 286 won;t give you much before 3000rpm, but I'm not sure what it will act like with a pooper charger...

If the 850 cam was that good surely vmax scart would use it instead of the 286?

my 286 cam used to start to pull from about 2500 and would idle at atout 1000 - 1200 happily it wasnt really a town cam haha but pulled well up top!

As boo said, it all depends what you want from an engine...

a 286 will pull higher up, give "sometimes" a rough ideal or a high tick over...
whereas a SW5 will tick over around 600-800rpm, and pull near enough from ideal!

right then as there is quiet a bit of bodywork ive decided to strip the whole car down to bare shell so i can get it on its side and paint the underside of the car and sort out the hole in the floor will be getting the subbys off (maybe sell them) as im thinking of tubular subframes aswell so over the next few weeks it will become a bare shell :'(

Well least you can say you'll be able to insure it now.... as its getting longer and longer before it ready to roll again

I've been tempted to strip mine down again, just to rebuild it, but do a few changes...




p.s that was bloody quick of Minisport... how the hell did u manage to get them in less than 6 months? lol

lol yeh i ordered the stuff on sunday and got it all yesterday so came very quick

yeh will probs be about 20 when its done haha
