fitted it, couldn't get it to fire, read it might be the coil type so swapped to the other coil I have lying around, still no firing, was getting cold and fed up so back to original distributor and coil and back to the drawing boards!
Need to go get a new starter motor soon so might get them to check it out then!

1983 should be a 12V coil, but if it happens to be an early ballast ignition system, your coil will be 9V. If you are taking the power feed from a 9V coil on a ballast system, the electronic ignition won't work. It will need a separate switched 12V feed.
