Many thanks John, very nice mini you have there I am a big fan of white minis with black roofs!
They had this programme on quest yesterday with Brian Johnson, it was called cars that rock or something?! But I only tuned in for the last few minutes as I had missed the first showing also  :(
Was pretty neat though he even bought the 1968 Mini Cooper he was driving around Brands Hatch!

You can catch it again on Quest tomorrow at 6.00pm and on Monday at 7.00pm. I think it's the best Mini programme that I've seen and well worth a watch. Henry, our red RSP makes a number of small appearances :-)

Thank you very much Tanya I managed to watch them both! Woah the red RSP Paddy Hopkirk sat in your car!! That's something you'll treasure forever wish he could have sat in my mini but it has no seats neither does it have a running engine yet :/

Your mini looked fantastic John, it made me very nervous when Philip was driving so fast in rain though but none the less the mini looked fab!! I even watched the repeat on Channel 4+ straight after too hehe. Hopefully they'll make a programme soon on 1275 GT's and have my mini on there!!

Did anyone else notice the wonkiness of the suspension? The rear was definitely too low to be on new cones, which is what the front looked like it had, and I'm sure the front end was a bit wonky side to side as well.

Good program through, I enjoyed it!

What was going on with that suspension, lacking attention to detail?  The headlining looked a bit rippled as well.

But yes overall a good programme though, nice to see Brian Slark briefly talking about Downton, would have been good if he did the engine build.

The lady owner of the Mk1 he took up snake pass, anxious or what, fancy taking it out in all that rain.

It wasn't her car, it's mine! and yes I was a tad nervous O_O  :X  :D . It clearly said that she arranged for him to drive a MK1 Cooper. She was a bit anxious because all the windows were very steamed up and he was struggling to see. She kept on looking at the speedo checking his speed :whistling: .

Its only rain!!! It's survived 47 years, I don't think a bit (....lot) of rain will do it any harm, or mud :D ?

They are there to be used, i use it for going to work in during most of the summer, rain or shine  .

It certainly looked like they chucked a fair bit of cash at the restoration. Those tyres looked like Dunlop R7s. Those are about £95 a tyre...

Their geography knowledge wasn't great, they reckoned the car was in Donabate just outside Belfast when it's actually in Dublin!!  :bah:

I wish they could do an extended repeat of the show where they go into a bit more detail regarding the restoration. They made a point of showing how much welding the escort needed in the 1st show but never found any rot in a mk1 mini !

Not all that surprising.. Mk1s didn't rot as much, especially ones that have been kept in a garage for years!

My brother had a 64 super deluxe, it was far more solid than my 87 even though it hadn't really been cherished.

Just watched this on 4od and thought it was great.

A few inaccuracies but who cares. It was much better than that other tripe with Bernie Fineman

I must agree that the suspension looked a bit iffy on the finished car.

Tad disappointing that they barely showed any of the restoration but was a good show IMO

Nice that some of the TMF members cars were in the show too.

I enjoyed it, mainly because the did not show too much about the restoration, as I would have been screaming at the screen...

Made for great entertainment.

I also enjoyed the Landy and stag, as I watched all three in a row while building boxes yesterday.

Now run out of car programs on sky+ :(
