Hi, sorry this post is probably directed at Snuggle-Buddy as he has made reference to the red mk1 LOC 81F used in the skating scene and throughout the show.  This car was my grandmothers from new and then mine after she passed away up until three years ago when I made the very painful decision to sell her as apart from coming out of the garage to go for an MOT and be polished she wasnt getting used and I felt she needed to be seen.  The pictures show her as she was when she left me.

I sold her to someone who was supposedly to put her in his collection however some time later I had contact from someone else that had been to view her stating she was on the floor but was still considering purchasing but wanted to ask me some questions about her first.  Since then I heard nothing and have been so upset thinking she may have been scrapped or used as a spares bucket!  You can imagine how excited I was to suddenly see her on TV and looking amazing, whoever owns her now clearly cherishes her which is all I could ask for.  I really cannot thank the new owner enough for breathing new life into a car which holds so many childhood and adult memories for me it truly was an emotional watch.  I wanted her to be seen and now she has been on television!  What I really wanted though was for the new owner to know that she is called "Betsy", a name she was given by my grandmother when new.  A silly thing I know but if the new owner reads this, now you know or if anyone knows the owner please pass this information on.  I would be interested to know if she is going to be in the London to Brighton this weekend as I might just be tempted to drive down.  Anyway, thanks for reading.

WOW Minimemory, what a fantastic story!  The person who now owns her is mister bridger - http://www.theminifo...ister-bridger/.  Send him a message. I'm sure he'll be pleased to hear from you as it's most Mini people's dream to have a story such as this attached to their Mini.

Wow! Yes I am the very happy owner of "Betsy" Never really been one for naming cars before but I might have to make an exception now. I bought it from a chap in Chelmsford who bought it for his wife but she was the "horsey" type and more interested in Range Rovers etc. She was pretty much as your pics when I got her, (the car, that is!) including wrong grille etc and I haven't had to do too much, other than transplanting the running gear from my old burnt out car that I managed to salvage, plus new sills and rear valance. Yes I will be at L2B and in the show n shine so not hard to find. PLEASE come and find me, I'd love to hear more about her!

Ah Mr Bridger!  Thank you for your post you really have no idea how happy and relieved I was to see her on Sunday night.  I think the grille was changed in the 70's after a small bump my nan had on her way to work at British Leyland as a Draughtswoman.  You really do have a special little car there that has been loved all it's life.  I will definitely try to get down to Brighton on Sunday would be so good to see her again and now the name can continue!
