I have the Maguires liquid carnuba but I'm not that impressed, smells nice though.

Is this the stuff that is a slight tone of yellow or the clear stuff?

I used the yellowish stuff, burgandy bottle and was pretty pleased.

Thats it yes the yellowish one, on the black Clubman roof it looks a bit bloomy to my eyes, shiny though. I think I need to get into this proper hard wax instead.

OK folks been and bought this, I wanted some tyre stuff and needed a new drying cloth so I bit the bullet and paid full whack at hellfrauds! 3 for 2 so I saved £6.50 on the tyre stuff making it the same as ebay or online anyway.

I had already washed and super resin polished the car yesterday as it had been sat in the long stay at the airport and was dirty before we left it there, left to fully dry overnight then waxed this morning, simonez back to black and the glym stuff on the tyres, what do you think for my first attempt?

I use Turtle Wax Original and it does a fantastic job. Used to buy AutoGlym products exclusively because of the brand but I don't notice any difference in quality for the extra price.

Consider that Autoglym HD wax is £299.93 per Kg and Turtle Wax is £27.96 per Kg.

I see drying towel mentioned, is this better than a chamois?

I may try this AG HD, it sounds pretty good!

The wax is really good, no effort to put on, I already had the heads up from others here to only use a tiny bit, I found keeping the sponge nice and damp helped too, just rubbed off easy as pie after with the red cloth also provided. I havent used my new drier yet as the car was already dry and polished yesterday, I will report back on that one but we live in a really hard water area and the streaks and water marks are always bad even though I use macguiers fancy wash and wax stuff £15 a bottle!

Practical classics did a test a while back and boggo standard cheapy halfords stuff came out very well. I use poorboys stuff which is good and cheap.

Yes, lose the chamois as it will drag any dirt along the paint and will leave fine scratches (swirl marks) etc.in the paint. A microfibre drying towel lifts the dirt so there's much less risk of marking the paint :)

I have never mastered the chamois, looking forward to trying it now then, looks like my van might even get a wash tomorrow!
