Chavs in parking spaces get on my nerves, when they leave behind a massive dirty pile of McDonalds wrappers and c**p just dumped on the ground. I have never understood how people can just throw cans/litter on the ground to blow about. Would love to catch them one day, follow them home and then pack the whole lot up their tailpipes.

This is one of my gripes!

Why do chav's always hang out in mcdonalds car parks in there bodykitted crap heaps revving the engines and just generally being a nuisance?

I just don't get it! When i was that age i went to the pub. Would never dream of sitting in a cold car park at night doing nothing

Ben

Im not a chav.... However, I sit in Mc D's carpark watching the youth of today in their modified vehicles revving up their engines. It usually ends up with me doing the same ( seeing as it has a proper JCW exhaust on it ) enticing them to the black top. It usually ends up with them being left in my rear view mirror.

However I dont dump my litter on the ground. I also go to the pub :D

It's not just confined to Maccy D's car parks though. Retail parks, supermarkets, laybys anywhere they can sit and shovel. For about a mile radius around any drive through there's wrappers flapping about.

I always laugh to myself when i'm sitting in the drive through in our local and all you can hear is car engines revving and being held right on maximum revs for 10+ seconds. Why????

I just don't get why they don't clamp down on it. Surely its a private car park for patrons only? I saw an old couple come in to the car park once, catch sight of them revving and mucking about and quickly turn and drive off. It's not fair really...

When a posting changes topic the Mods etc usually point it out, seems like the Mods are taking part in the change of topic.

Sometimes it's necessary to bring a thread back in line, but as far as I'm aware there's nothing in the rules that says that we have to ensure that every thread has stays rigidly on topic either. Besides, this is in the off topic banter section and people seem to be enjoying a good rant and debate about various topics here (including the original one), so I really don't see there to be a problem.

Now more importantly........... What about those "middle lane hoggers" on the motorway then???

Do you mean the ones where you are sitting in the slow lane, catching up with a lorry, and there's a car in the middle lane behind you but they're a way off and not actually going any faster than you but, when they see you will need to overtake, suddenly speed up to try and block you pulling out?

You mean a thousand unicorns just farted. Yo! (lets see who gets this reference)

One that always gets me about parking is when people say to me: "why do you reverse into a car space? It takes so much effort."

This usually comes from people who you then see do a 7 point turn trying to get out of a car space. This is why I reverse into car spaces with my big Vectra. It makes getting out much easier. I don't always reverse park but if the car park is tight I often do.

Another one is when you drive just past a car space to you side with your indicator on, put your car into reverse and then either someone pulls right up behind you or they swing into the space you were about to back into and take about a dozen or so attempts at going back and forth and still end up   either a foot away from the curb or at an angle across it. I could have reversed into it in about 10 seconds and got it right in one attempt.

Errrr ...............No!

I mean those cretins who sit in the middle lane of the motorway for miles upon end, when lane one is completely empty. The idiots who have absolutely no idea that lane two and three are actually overtaking lanes, and that if you're not overtaking anything, then you shouldn't actually be in them!!!

It should be an instant ban for driving without due care and attention.

You want to go along at 70ish, they're doing 65 in the middle lane, then you've got someone who wants to do warp speed meaning it's really hard for you to get passed the middle lane hogger without getting in the way of the rep in his Audi.

You can get fined for it now although I would like to see how they would enforce it on the M54 though. There is no middle lane.

Old fart in a Rover 75 sitting in the middle lane on the M4 today. So dangerous -  loads of lorries taking up the inside lane and the idiot in the Rover just keeping pace alongside them at about 60. People were pulling out and then swerving right back in front of him in temper but he wasn't going to budge. I went past and he was smiling away and tapping his steering wheel. So happy being a pain in the arse to everyone.

Just seen this morning when joining the M54 a silver golf doing less than 50 mph (I was doing 50 with the rest of the traffic following the golf and we were all catching up quickly) pull across the chevrons onto the M54 and go straight across into the right hand lane to go round the truck it was following. This caused a Peugeot estate and a Mazda 6 to hit the brakes and slow down before they rear ended the golf.

Everyone else carried on down the slip road and got up to speed and then just filtered across behind the lorry.
