wonder where the parts are made ? - hopefully the UK at those prices
£2,399.00 for a 998cc head , carbs & stickers - you could get a proper engine for that
coming soon - cooper car care
slap some stickers on - & they will buy
think I'm getting cynical in my old age

Not sure if this is good news or bad news for us S Works owners.

My 52bhp spi gained 10bhp with a new ported cylinder head but to gain 30bhp seems like a rather large increase without a cam change. Not doubting it but that's a lot of money
yeah im not doubting it as they did it before but i want to know how haha

Quick question, I'm guessing I won't get 82bhp from the SPI conversion kit as I have the 53bhp Mayfair SPI engine in my Mayfair and not the Cooper SPI engine?
They're only offering the conversions for the 1275cc SPI's

Good I think...we're a geeky bunch but this kind of publicity will highlight the original S Work/JCG cars

There are two types of 1275 spi, the Cooper and the non Cooper, the difference being the ecu and the cam I think. This is before any JCG conversion

That is a good point. I must say there is stuff on sale that I'm tempted to buy.

Not sure about the spi but it's widely accepted that the mpi 90 bhp kit never delivered.
I'm not claiming that to be true either ...because I've never put ours under such pressure!!!
But a lot of people get the conversion cars confused simply because there were different conversions available for different engines that changed over the years ....all from John Cooper Garages
They see a JCG sticker plus a conversion plate and claim 90 bhp...most commonly done on an SI conversion which never claimed to be that high
Very confusing stuff ....i now need lager

Yeah they offered one on the Carburettor Coopers 90-92 not sure on the details of the earlier conversions but they did do them
