A new thread just wouldn't be the same though
Why on Earth not? Because you'll have to stick by the rules this time? It's not like you were reading back through the whole thread every time you posted!

You miss the point.

Or did people complain? Did somebody actually have a problem with the content?
Yes, several people did!
What a bunch of absolute mongs.
I find this term hugely offensive. Mongolism, (now called downs syndrome) being used as a term of abuse in exactly the same way Matt challenged homophobic posts in the JK thread.
If you knew what I've done in my life to support almost entirely down syndrome based charities you'd let that one go.
Anybody else or are we done for this evening?
Then why are you using it as a term of abuse?
At what point did I use it in the context of what you're suggesting? You're the one putting those words into my mouth with your mind, so that's evidently what you think the word is associated with? heres the dictionary definition. I've never referred to ANYBODY with a mental illness or genetic condition as a 'mong' and never will...

I can reopen it, and ban people that have sworn multiple times, used the aforementioned derogatory terms that they KNOW aren't acceptable no matter how they try and justify it. It's repeated, time and time again and they know they've done it. It'd result in Jon, Ross, Craig, Chipster, Sam, Spud, Liam and maybe a couple of others getting banned because they've repeatedly posted stuff that's against the TMF rules (and I'm talking a lot of posts).
IF me trying to avoid that was such a hideous thing, then I'm sorry.

And the context you're using the word is clearly before my time because I've never known of it being associated to people with downs syndrome, or used the name in that context before. I'm sorry if I offended you, it's just another example of how things can get out of how because of the context of a word on a page.

How did I get roped into the bad language group ? I only speak the Queens English i will have you know!
Never had a warning in my 7 years of TMF.
I haven't either, I grew out of trying to escape the swear filter about 5 years ago.

The Matt, on 27 Jun 2014 - 09:37 AM, said:It'd result in Jon, Ross, Craig, Chipster, Sam, Spud, Liam and maybe a couple of others ....
Incidentally, these are all characters from Irvine Welsh books. He doesn't swear or use bad language ... much

1. An animal or a plant resulting from various interbreedings, especially a dog of mixed or undetermined breed.2. A cross between different breeds, groups, or varieties, especially a mixture that is or appears to be incongruous
Did you use the word as a derogatory term?
Mongolism may refer to:
That word
