Can you find me one post that means I'd have been banned long ago first though please? I don't know why you've thrown so many of us into this list to justify closing the thread?

I can reopen it, and ban people that have sworn multiple times, used the aforementioned derogatory terms that they KNOW aren't acceptable no matter how they try and justify it.  It's repeated, time and time again and they know they've done it.  It'd result in Jon, Ross, Craig, Chipster, Sam, Spud, Liam and maybe a couple of others getting banned because they've repeatedly posted stuff that's against the TMF rules (and I'm talking a lot of posts).

IF me trying to avoid that was such a hideous thing, then I'm sorry.

How did I get roped into the bad language group ? I only speak the Queens English i will have you know!
Never had a warning in my 7 years of TMF.

I haven't either, I grew out of trying to escape the swear filter about 5 years ago.

Just for reference,

19th April 2014 you deliberately avoided the swear filter by using a number in place of a letter.

And that's about all you can pull me for in that thread?

Everybody was invited to join in, nobody was ever excluded. Some people took it the wrong way when you came in and said what you did, if you didn't have an admin badge on it wouldn't have happened

So by the sounds of it matt, speaking to people about what actually went on before it closed, your just having a paddy and abusing your "powers", which in my eyes, is definately foul play.

No need to be sarcastic about it.

What's been done is not fair, but hey, what can we do about it, we haven't got any powers at all, not does it seem we have any say in the matter. It's so frustrating, because it's just not fair what was done, and without any explanation prior to just closing the thread.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't see the use of 'gay' as a derogatory term being acceptable on here.  Especially when the justification for using it is that you also call things Jewish in the same negative manner.

Seeing as this is an open forum, a "gay" person my be offended. Just the same way the N & P words are sometimes used in a derogatory way to describe people of an a ethnic origin................

I doubt those words would be acceptable on here......

But its ok to blame "Pikies" every time a poxy car goes missing

Thats offensive to me and the Travelling community,  but TMF still let it go.

But if we say somethings gay thats wrong.

Whats the difference ??

Actually, no. We don't allow the term pikies on here. We've dealt with that in the past too.

Meh. This is silly :(

It's ridiculous that people are arguing over such stupid things. Who cares about the use of the word pikey? Who cares that a lot of the JK thread was nonsense. It was somewhere to post when you just felt like a bit of a stupid chat, because god knows we all need some of that once in a while.

What's more stupid is falling out over it, or arguing about it all. I don't come on here much these days, but when I do, I like to check in with the strange bunch of people that were on that thread.

I'm super stressed & massively fed up with everything at the moment - please don't argue, I actually might just implode.

Who's Jeremy Kyle ? ;)

Seriously.. who is he ? (I'm just a stupid foreigner you know.. ;) )

I can't remember reading any of the posts in the original thread, but being a member of multiple forums, I know on many forums there are threads where people can just chat or rant about everything. As long as it's not becoming a personal vendetta against a certain member or a group of people, other than in a fun way, it shouldn't be a problem.

Life sometimes is so serious, it's good to have some fun with friends or fellow forum members. When the thread is posted in an area where there's a warning stating to all readers that it's a NON SERIOUS thread and that it will not or barely be moderated because 99.9% of it's contents is just for fun, nobody should feel offended by it's contents.

The question is: does a thread like that belong on a Mini forum like this ?  Well, why not? As we all know this is a worldwide forum, with loads of members from loads of countries. That means people from all ages and from every level of society. A lot of the members know eachother personally from Mini events, where we all have fun and make jokes and sometimes make fun of people. As long as it's not becomming a place where members structually get bullied for whatever reason, I don't see why a thread like that can't exist.  Again, WITH the warning to all (new) readers that it's a NON serious thread.

I'm a moderator on 2 forums in Holland, and yeah, sometimes that means you're getting comments/complaints about your actions on the forum because people disagree with your actions. That's why those actions have to be well thought through before taken. And even then, people sometimes start an argument.  It's exactly the same with police officers in the real world. Some people respect them, other people hate them.  When receiving a ticket for speeding or overtaking a car on the wrong side, don't blaim the oficer. At the end of the day, you were the one in violation of the rules.

There are places in the world where you are allowed to overtake on the wrong side and where there are no speed limits, they're called circuits.  Let's create a circuit where we can let go of the members and where the rules aren't as strict as on the rest of the forum.

To come back to my first question: I guess/hope he's a comedian ? Because those are allowed to make "insults" on people or groups of people because their audience KNOWS they're not serious.. it's for fun.. Now let's have some fun !
