Got a photo of the damaged cylinder wall?

This is one of the reasons we all suggested not to run the engine anymore as you don't know how much more damage it has caused.

It really is not worth re-fitting the head and wasting a gasket and all the time to do it.

There is a very technical term which describes the block. It's f*****!

It 'lubricates' the flow of vocabulary  ;D . Can't beat a bit of Anglo-Saxon.

But that block definitely is what I said.

Sorry no pic but the seller has said I can return the engine to him and get a £500 refund £250 less than I paid or he's offered me a block with pistons if I go and collect which is nice of him as long as that blocks not bad too ;). It's a bit of a treck to collect though.

I think I got a bit of a shock when I was an apprentice and went into the factory to get shop floor experience. I was just 18 and the fitters language was 'fruity' in the extreme. That made me realise what a great language we actually have. There are so many ways of expressing yourself.

I still think the most effective words in the English language are 'Bol***ks' & 'F*** Off'. For example, the first often refers to what our politicians say and the second is a great help in dealing with unwanted telephone sales calls :D .

So I bit the bullet an put the head back on, and drove it to castle combe and back with no apparent problems.
