So, the only 100% consistant thing on my mini finaly stoped working. The temp gauge.

My '83 Mayfair has a dual instrument bezzel with the right hand gauge having the fuel and temp in the upper left and right. The fuel only reads about half with the tank full and the temp doesn't move at all.

The only recent change is a new ignition switch.

I unwraped and traced several wires and found no issues.

That sounds like low output voltage from the voltage stabilizer.  I assume that being an '83 this car still has a Smiths gauge cluster.  If so, the stabilizer is mounted to the back of the cluster and is replaceable.

Not wanting to hijack, but where is the voltage stabiliser on the Nippon gauge clusters?

On the NS gauges the stabilizer is built into one of the gauges (sorry... I forget if it is part of the fuel gauge or the temperature gauge.  If you search the FAQ section of this board there is an article on a workaround for replacing the NS stabilizer.  However, the workaround requires disassembly of the gauge cluster.
