Granted it was an average speed of 5 mph so those lovely cyclists can overtake us but on the odd occasion there was an inner urge to get to the next lights before they changed!

I can agree with that, I may have blocked 1 crossing in the process, but I got through them  ;D

Going back to kids laying over cars, I walked back to mine, and saw a kid laying all over the bonnet, and it's mother facing the other way too engrossed into her conversation on her phone to realise what was going on, I walked up and got a drink out of my car, and all she said was get off the car, no apology, I was fuming!

Is the feller on here in the Green clubman with the Mazda engine?

He arrived at CP late Saturday, with the AA after his Bearings had locked on the A40

Poor guy!

I dunno if he got it going at all, AA man reckoned 10 mins job, but his mini was still parked at the front of the park very late on.

Both guys in it were very friendly, had a little chat, although I was very Tired at that point

One of them asked "what do you Drive?"

In my tired state I replied "Yes" or something to that effect.

He got it going, was at Brighton, and if I'm not mistaken he roared up the slope on his way out sounding insane. May have got the wrong green Mini though ;)

Ahh good. That AA guy was pretty top aswell, theyre lucky he came to them, most of them would of just towed it somewhere and looked blankly at the mention of a engine converted mini

Just reading back on this thread, how many of you knew it was 20mph in Brighton? I certainly didn't until I was nearly out of it coming home! I don't remember seeing any speed camera's but then again I didn't see the speed limit signs lol. Why have 20mph, people drive in lower gears and emit more emissions!!!

Brightons MP is from the Green Party...

Brighton police aren't though and are very reluctant to enforce it.

Also have a video of the fist start of it after the fix and him doing a little test drive, at just gone 2300hrs.
I'll upload them now.(tommorow, video is taking ages to upload)

I don't understand how they can enforce the 20mph limit when all the old speed limit signs are up. Unless I missed it when entering Brighton, there was nothing to say it was 20mph limit everywhere, nor when leaving Brighton did I see anything to say I was leaving the 20mph zone. I'm not surprised to hear the police are reluctant to enforce the 20mph limit, when you could just say 'I didn't know' and point to a 40 sign with a confused expression on your face!

A good weekend for me anyway, got down to Brighton in record time, about an 1 hour 30 from CP to A27 island via the M23. I think last years beautiful weather forecast was also a curse, lots of people wanted a day trip to the beach compared to this year.

Matt sorry i didnt join you, i got recovery at 11.00 home for 2pm. Your suits looks sick!
The rear bearing was trashed! We couldn't get the hub off. But i did spend a few hours down there.

That's okay mate, hope you get it sorted easily enough. I was only down Brighton for about 1 and half hours.
