Evening all

I have finally set some time aside to start a thread. Its not going to be much of a build thread more of a events/ fixing thread for my 1959 car and car conversions mini built by Fred game. I came across the vehicle when I went to see it when a friend of mine who bought it of someone in Frome if I recall correctly, before this guy had it it lived in Plymouth for a number of years the grey area of its where about was after the 1974 mag issues i am currently buying old race reports to see if i can find it in any. it came with a late 1275 metro engine in it a few other bits and bobs for it. My friend then stored it but over time the engine and other little bits got taken from it for his other mini project that is about 13 years in the making...... I know I know I keep trying to make him work on it to get it done. anyway after a year or two of it doing nothing, he was planning on going to America for the summer and needed the money from it but still wanted to see the vehicle, so in comes me and a deal was made and I took ownership of the mini. i then manage to get an early magic wand 850 that i could put in it to make it mobile and run for shows and other events. the 850 was bought off a friend, it hadn't run in a good 30 years but we had hope, and first spin of the starter..... i stand corrected it didn't got the plug lead around the wrong way, anyway it started and sounded fine and as a bonus no oil leaks:), the brakes were bleed up and clutch and it moved under its own power. castle coombe was then slowly coming and decided that it would be good to get it out at a show to see if i could get any more information about the mini. so it was set, the plan started to roll within a week me and my friend luke had the car rolling and got some stickers made like it use to have, it looked the part it had its battle damage rough paint like it had just been pulled out of storage. we managed to get it there and got lots of interest in it, manage to get a lead from a guy with another ccc vehicle. this lead has now lead to the event of taking it to the autosports show for 50 year of car and car conversions this weekend. pop over if you going and say hi. for the show i have had to sort out a water pump and clutch slave as these gave up the castle coombe and other little bits and bob to make it look a little more correct.

right with that little story out of the way picture time :)

a little more information for you all body wise, the front end one piece fibreglass, both doors fibreglass, they were standard doors with ali riveted on to them instead of steel skins in its life though it they have been changed, the rear quarters are chopped out and ali riveted in place, the rear panel is all fiberglass and the roof is fiberglass as well, the rear seat/ boot floor are all gone and replaced with a semi space frame which supports the rear coil overs. I want to get it weighed to see how much it weighs with everything chopped about.
