Guys you're so supportive!

so bananaman, have you read the whole post??? lol it's a big one now isn't it!

I think my fave pic is of the finished door and of the boot lid with the WD40 tin reflection in it lol.

I'm gonna have breakfast now and then I'm off to tidy the garage,... had a right kufuffle trying to get my front HI-los installed with that bloody cone comressing tool but it's done now.... but i used nearlt every tool in my box!!! P.S.... i have found that the easiest way to get the plastic cup of the knuckle joint that always gets rusted and stuck in, is to firstprize the sides away gently and spray WD40 down the sides, then set fire to it. i used a small cooking blowtorch slowly the cup will go limp and fall into itself and become a gloopy blob at the bottom of it's slot. then you just get a screwdriver or small chisel and bang it to release it, out it pops. not easy, but definalty more succesful for me than the hot screwdriver method.

Right, just finished painting the scuttle panel 1st coat. went on a little too thin as i'm outta practice, however I dripped a little Neat rustoleum onto the panel and worked it in, is now lovely and level, Had to skim a bit of filler over the scuttle and i wasn't suere how the rustoleum would sit on it,... but it's fine and looks like metal now. pics will come. now the scuttle's done the whole car is the same colour, looks really nice. can't wait to get more coats on and get poilishing etc.

Once again. you guys are so complimentory about my work, I thank you all. Pics to come!

I don't think i've said anything in the post but everytime there's something new on it i always check. I think it's amazing the finish you're getting from such a different way of painting (a car).

Like i say i've always been checking up but i can't remeber if anyone's asked where you get rustoleum from, can you shed some light onto this please?

Keep up the good work!

Avenue coatings (where I got my paint) = 01753-686-888

Call them and ask to talk to Alan regarding mixing rustoleum. He will colour match any colour you want, and does metallics too. Don't take any notice of the lousy receptionist.

i may well doas i'll have enough paint. but as most of the car is carpeted and leathered up on the inside, little metal shows.

full car in 1-2 coats now. Paint going on very well, seems as with every paint job, this is all ab out patience and prep work. The better then the better this paint has gone on.

painted Scuttle, A-panels, O/S rear quarter and window frames a couple of days ago, here's the results.
can't wait to get more layer on!

I'm astonished at how good it looks!! Would it be cool to get some close-ups?

yeah that's fine, but the paint's not finished yet so it wont be any good, really the only close ups you want are after it's been cut and polished. this is only 1-2 coats apart from the back and the front of the car, but even they're not finished yet. I have to flat the paint back and then cut it back with paste, then polish it, then wax. there are some close ups in the first few pages of the thread...

one of a bottle of WD40 reflecting in the bonnet. and one of the passenger door, done but not polished.

I will get close ups of the final result, since these are the only important ones lol.

Looks amazing, always thought painting with a roller was impossible! (well for a decent finish) and you have gone with a light colour, i would have thought rollin would be easier with black or dark blue.. all the more credit.

Now more and more people will start painting the cars themselves, with this silly laws commin soon...

the colour is darker than it seems. i look slighter in the photos than it truly is.

this pic is closer to the real shade of blue,l though it's alittle darker still in real life.
