With each Mini should come a multimeter.  If you don't have one, get one.  I got mine from Maplin for £10.

Anyway I would start with the bullet connectors behind the front grill.

Check to see if you have power going in and coming out.

I had issues and found simply pulling the connectors apart, cleaning them and putting back together solved the issue.

But I had power going into the connectors, but not coming out.

Cheers.

Iggy.

Later cars have split sidelight circuits so this is far more likely to be a fuse issue than a wiring fault. The right hand sidelights and instrument lighting are on a fuse together, so check the inline fuses. I believe it will have red/black wiring.

Would the in-line fuse be located in the passenger compartment or the engine bay, many thanks.

There is a small cluster of them by the air cleaner and another cluster behind the instruments.  The sidelight fuse should be behind the air cleaner under the bonnet.

Oh. Wow.

You need to separate them out and clean the wiring to see the colours on the original cables properly, the colours of the spliced in sections won't help. I think we need to work out why you appear to have fuses in series with fuses because that's quite a bad idea. Myself I would remake all those with OE crimped inline glass fuse holders or maybe add another fuse box. It's a right mess. If you were closer I'd happily do it for you.
