Nat saying its been easy to do, it been a right PITA! But its most certainly satisfing that I've done it myself!
I was saying to the old man yesterday, if I paid to have the sills done, and then they found all this, and I'd pay them to do it... Would I of done what I have done to the Mini now?
I don't think I would of! So i am glad the decided to poke the rust with a screw driver... even it does mean a £1800 Mini, turns into a Project!

The sill is a pain in the arse! I hate welding upside down! I hate the sill because its weld a bit, tap it down, weld a bit, tap it down... due the floor being uneven where I've welded my new inner sill in....
I don't really mind welding upside down, it's the sparks landing on ya i'm not keen on.
and i thought thas how you get every patch or repair to fit, weld a bit, tap it down, weld a bit, tap it down...

I am going to be painting my sill black, wouldn't mind them body colour, as it makes the car look lower.... I dunno, I might thinking about it! as its a new sill... it won't rust toooooo fast... I hope, so for a little while i might be driving round with orange sills...!

drag wars is in july? it will definately be ready for then.
your definately right about them looking lower with body coloured sills, when my car was white it had black sills and a 2 inch stip around the bottom in black, made it look so much higher than it was.

Runs to the garage brb!

...God its cold outside!
Its QD Enamel, Vermillion / bs 593 is the code. I think its locally mixed, I forget now as I sent my dad on an errand to get it!

Normal seam sealer was used, the horrible yucky grey stuff in a tin, brushed on with a paintbrush.
Some pictures of it somewhere, will ask for permission first tho from Dog!
