What sort of boxes do you think I should look at OSB?

Dog boxes and the like?

I wouldn't say a Dog box unless your going balls out power and torque. If I was going to take my 7 Port any further, I would have definatly have got one. There are loads of decent gear sets out there now days I recon. Minisport, Minispeed and a few other minishops offer good sets but If you want peice of mind, Id say Jack Knight, Quaife or Swiftune offer the best kits with durability and streangth in mind.

Humm so maybe a decent gearset is on the cards next, I've already got a box R2R with a Minispares 4pin diff....

The diff is spot on and virtualy indestructable. Its just that I would never trust a helical box with a properly modded motor on top. I rekon they are fine with the usual stage 3's, over bores, cams etc but add some of these together and a few more extreme mods, such as a cross flow head, and you'll have a fair bit more power and torque than the average sooped up mini.

I can understand what you mean about the gearsets, i'll see how mine gets on. It was on a 1380 296 camd engine, so I would of thought it was done properly...

7 port is VERY tempting, I mean extreamly tempting, but I think that sort of engine will be a "on the side" job for when the mini is finished and I have owt to pay out...

Well its going to be the strongest bottom end I can afford, and not sure about the induction side of things yet...

But as for the street fighter, I'm going to restore the engine, and fit a few tweaked bits onto it, I don't want the expense of building the engine too, I want the Mini back :gimme:

UPDATES :dontgetit:

Ok today, after I primed my bulkhead, I gave it the first coat of paint... looks good with just one coat, but I'm going to give a few more, as the dash has turned out great :proud:

Dial surrounds, I need to re-think how I'm going to do these, as they are not going quite to plan :D

And finially the finished artical (well not quite) This is the centre bit done, once its hardened for a week or so, I'll go out and get some black leathatte, to cover the rest, and hopefully, I would of worked out how to make the Aux Dial surrounds match the centre peice :w00t:

And I thought I'd post up a pic of my other workshop...

A right tip atm, as I can't store much in the garage due to the Mini being in the way!

Right thats going to be about it for now, unless I get bored over xmas, and actully get the motivation to get the subby done... I hate painting lol I have 4 days off for xmas... 1 of them will have to be with the olds... so the other 3 will probably be used to get the Mini a little further ahead... I've got the Subframe to strip, clean and paint, filling to do, and maybe get the inside cleared out to do some more painting in there.... Did I say i am getting bored of painting lol

Floor mounts I havn't removed because I haven't got a socket that I can use yet....
I'm not worried about them, as when I get my socket, I am going to remove them, then clean and red oxide, then paint on waxoil, so basically everything from the crease in the bulkhead down, is going to black waxoil...

The clutch hose... there is no surface rust under it

Hinge panel bits... they are part of the sill, so don't need removing, if they cause trouble later, then I'll get the hammer out, and bend them back over the sill.
