Bring her up to Welshpool if you like, but not up the A49. Clun, Bishops Castle, Church Stoke, much better for dogging the DOG don't you think???

You could have some extra fun by running up to Knighton first and then through New Invention to Clun.

Or you could go............ :D

Do it Dog! It's only half an hour from where I work, we could do a mini-mini meet! :D

Cool - cheers Dog, look forward to getting the parcel.

That lick of yellow paint has done wonders - I take it the block was OK then. I had a horrible thought I'd forgotten to put the CMS in there but as its fitted I must've done!

Block is perfect - crank went in, turned over VERY smooth, unlike the previous time I put my other 1380 together...
Just awaiting my new cam etc.. should be a pretty awesome engine!!

Going to paint the block and head yellow,
gearbox, clutch housing etc, red, along with stainless blots holding on some parts...

Oh and a red MG Finned Rocker cover...

Erm, Runcorn, but i preffer to say Warrington these days. (if you ever seen two packets of crisps, you'll know what i mean)

Good thing is im right on the A49, the right side of Runcorn/Warrington. My Mini just loves the A and B roads with the 3.7 diff in there. :dontgetit:

Like I say, its a bit further for me, but its a day out driving.

Mini is broke at the minuet so eager to get out in it. Minis Vs Beetles is on the cards. Just pull yer finger out Dog and get the car on the road. I rebuilt mine, every nut and bolt in 14 weeks last year :D :D

*Female doggy*!!

Wish I could of rebuilt mine in 14 weeks!!
Just never had the pennies to do that!

My finger is being pulled... engine "should" be finished by the end of the month... awaiting a quote from Simon@minispares for all my bits I've ordered - that list above is now out of date lol!!

Once I get all my bits - all I need to spend on is paint & windows & seals!! Dash to the finish in 14weeks? - sounds like a worthy challenge :D

But deffo, I aim to be on the road by end of May, so WILL make an excuse to come up, and give the car a long run - run in.... Just want to make sure I've got 50miles on it first...

Whens Mini VS Bugs?
Also, whens drag wars this year?

Don't forget the A49 is closed for 9.5miles above Whitchurch, so you could go down the M56 (40mph remember over the bridge at jtn12) on to the M53/A55 and then down the A483 to Wrextom. Easy to Ellesmere from there.

Dont do motorways. Boring strips of black tarmac. And that 3.7 diff is tiring on long journies at or above a constant 60mph.

Im sure theres a way round. Could pick up the A483 at Wrexham via A49/ A534, be much better for me. The 483 after Chirk is one of my favourite stretches of road, all the way down :D I always stop at Sugar loaf for a break and walk up the hill for a stretch and a look at the views. So peacefull with little traffic. Awesome! Not going that far though this time

Yea, I think the A49 is closed just before Skip Browns. But if you turn for Whitchurch again on the A41 down into Grindley Brook, down Whitchurch By-pass to the next roundabout, aim for Wrextom A525, first left for Ellesmere A495. Now thats a good road and will lead you to within a mile of Matt's house, Bingo. Continue down the A495 through Wittington to the A483 and beyond...........
