Retro - Yeh I am sure I'll be doing yearly rebuilds, but I'll only be using the Mini for around 3-4months of the year...

(_!_) - Insurance is about the same as any sports car - I want the Mini - I want it to be different - I want it to be fast, so I don't mind paying the price

Supermoto - their off the bike - afaik - I'll be using the bees knees in throttle bodies, the K1200RS, I think SC said their about 38mm - the best you can get on the BMW K bikes

Mad4Mins - Thanks for the heads up, but I am now sorted for head etc - like I said, I;ve got a K1200RS 16v head - just need the pennies now to go get it all machined

Does this mean that you have to ask Morspeed for your pistons back then?

to be honest I don't think I'll go back to morspeed now - SC are alot more informative, and are willing to help out wherever!!
Yeh I'll get my pistons back - thats no biggie, I'll ask shabs to send them to me...

I've also over come the urge to get a "sports" car now too, as I'm going to build the Mini to a N/a 1380 with a 286 cam - just because I'm am so bored of the Nissan!!

I'll build the 16v in the winter, pennies are a little short atm, and I'd rather have cash to "dispose" of, at a good cause... and NO - I am not changing my mind - for once - the Street Fighter will be a 16v A-Series, for the 2008 Shows

Ok I've just spent £200 with Minispares

£114 of that being a 286 Scatter cam!
But anyways;

Painted my engine today -

Me collectiong engines - still 2 other engines not pictured...



Nitromor's at its best - it burns too!




After a degrase, and a steam clean... a nice couple licks of yellow paint




Piston just placed in the bore - fits nicely!



Will keep updating with pics where I can, about how the engine is being built - I've got to collect my new box too...

Ok I've just spent £200 with Minispares

£114 of that being a 286 Scatter cam!

Was thinking of going for the 296SP myself, but bottled it in the end. Unfortunately, when I bought the camshaft I couldn't afford the extra cost of the scatter cam and tried to be sensible by going for the MD286. Hope I don't regret it

At least I know I can change it easy enough at a later date.
