Hi guys,

The wiring in my mini is a bit of a mess and I am trying to sort it out and have a question regarding relays.

I have relocated the fuses and relays to the interior of the car behind the lower dash rail. It is all wired up and works but there are a couple of things that are bugging me.

There are three relays. Two I have identified as being the direction indicator flasher unit and the hazard warning flasher unit. I am trying to identify the third and have not been able to work out what it is from the haynes manual.

The car is a 1984 on carb model with multiple instrument pack and pre engaged starter motor. The (goldish coloured) relay has the following numbers written on it: 30/51 85 86 87 87a and has four wires connected: Brown, Brown/Red, White/Red and Black.

I would like to make a second new loom off the car and am asking as I would like to source a second relay. Normally I am able to find things like this on the minispares site but no luck. Any chance someone could put up a link.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Mark

Thanks for the swift reply. A quick search for starter relay on minispares offers the following result:

Is this the correct relay? What is this listed as in the haynes manual as I can't seem to find it!

Am I right in saying that this is a changeover relay with 30 Amp rating?

Cheers,

Mark
