Hi, I have been given a lovely old Speedwell tachometer but there are no instructions. I want to put it in my 1275 van.  I managed to download an original instruction sheets but the wires coming out of the unit are not marked so the instuctions don't mean very much.  There's a thick black one, and a thick red one, a thin black and a thin red one -

Also on a coil wired to electronic ignition which side of coil is SW and which is CB?

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Adam

CB is to the distributor ... ie contact breaker

SW is switched live

SW is Coil + and CB is Coil -, is there marking on the face of the Tacho RVI or RVC if it says RVI then its not going to work with electronic, there are companies though that do a conversion of the internal circuitry
