Oh wow, I can now understand why the garage thought it may have been fatal. Glad you're ok, and I hope you have a speedy recovery.

I am surprised how much that has collapsed, many years ago my brother was at about 80mph lost it and bounced off an earth bank and cartwheeled down the road. There was not a panel unmarked and the roof took a right hammering,  the car was written off but the roof stayed pretty much upright.....I guess you caught that bad.

When i rolled my car, the passenger front corner of the roof caved in.

I DID have a passenger but luckily he was completely unharmed

This theory that minis are bad in accidents is rubbish my old mini Max was hit by a deer at 50 ...crushed the drivers corner of the roof a fraction bent the a pillar a bit and a crease in the top dash rail I got our with only glass cuts on my face the deer was mangled ...I also cried when I realised the car was too far gone and I don't even cry when close relatives die lol.
Glad your OK and hope you get a good replacement I still miss mine even now I have another mini

Check things like ball joints or the tiebar mount ...I fitted cheap rubbers to the tiebar mount on the misses mini years ago and about 3 days later they fell apart fortunately she was only doing 20 and just veered into a curb .. Worth a nosey though.

Wow! So glad you're ok - that car looks a mess.

I've had 3 times where the car suddenly veers off to one side. First was where a novice tyre fitter had nicked the inside of a sidewall when fitting a new tyre and the sidewall blew out (I couldn't prove it though...). Next was a beautiful 120 degree spin caused by a diesel spill whilst the final one was a faulty balljoint which let go at 25mph. I ended up in a hedge. Never rolled one though...

Insurance notified so that should get sorted. Have been trying to decide between another mini and an old ramge rover. I can get both for my budget and always fancied an old rr. Seems more sensible as i often have a car full of kit plus it means i can take the child seat.

I would purely use it as a temp car untill i find a mini that i really want, save for a mk1 or something. Any thoughts/ anyone got any experience with old range rovers?

I do love top gear but not sure i would base my opinions of a car on their findings whilst driving through the backwaters of some horribly hot and humid country haha

Put it through it's paces though... I quite like the old Range Rovers. I wouldn't mind one myself, I like classic cars and they are very practical. Running costs probably aren't cheap though.

Probably true. But if i can find one with a decent mot and history it should be ok. Means ill get to learn about a different type of engine. Ill just inspect as i would do if i was lookng at a mini. Its just difficult finding a manual transmission that isnt bloomin miles away. Will be visiting slark during the week to look at one of their minis which they may be willing to sell me, so mini adventure may not be over just yet!
