Twin Back Box Muffler Repair Reuse

Hi again

 

I had to pull the twin back box muffler off of my 1.3i Mayfair

as you can see there are a couple of large 'oles in it

 

but unlike the Mayflow that comes in 2 parts this is a twin muffler in one unit all soldered

 

seems criminal to dump the mounting pipe, tail pipe and first muffler box

anyone managed to repair one of these

 

the second box looks beyond repair but any similar sized muffler box could be soldered on if I cut this one off

the really big hassle and I think it the reason why most people don't bother would be positioning the hangers so that they fit back into the rubber jobbies

 

anyone managed to reuse one of these I'd be very interested to know how -  a new Mayflow is about 200quid and  imo the cheaper silencer units just don't seem worth it

I picked up a used stainless HKS Jama one that should arrive soon
