that sounds like a misleading statment from MED,

to get an 88mm stroke in, somthing will need to be different, otherwise the pistons will stick out the top of the block by 6.7mm, usually this is short deck height pistons, this is not technically a "block" modification... and I assume they are ignoring overbores.

as far as I remember it was only above about 90mm stroke that the block needed modding, ( grinding away at the gearbox joint to clear the conrods,) with somthing like arrow rods I'd expect clearance to be better.

the SC 1460 sounds to have longer conrods Probably 6", and really low deck height pistons, this is nice as it "slows down" the the piston. so less stresses.

I agree, they sell short height pistons which I'm assuming are for lowering the piston to deck height when a longer throw on the crank is used. Med do sell std rods at 5.750", 5.875" and the 6" rods.
