Cheers Dom i can just see the mini sitting outside now and i cant wait to get it painted now , i spoke to the paint shop today and it looks like i wont be able ot have the mini painted when i wanted to so it might be a bit delayed

Ah thats a shame, how longs the wait? And how long till you can drive it again?

Im not sure ill get on to the phone with them ASAP to try and get a date that they will be getting it painted. I duno if i will bother getting it on the road 1/2 done as im going on holiday as you know, so it wouldn't be worth it.

Sure. Are you going to keep that exhaust and make it a beefy looking mk1 or tone it down a bit?

Im going to keep it and make it sort of a racy looking MK1, but ill have a look at it when the mini is finished and decided as i might get rid of it and fit a single side exit, bit its going to have wide arches, little 10" wellers, bucket seats, a cage, fiberglass molded dash, etc... so it will be a sort of racy looking MK1

well i got a little bit done today, i got the front end fitting better, fitted the pins to the bonnet, cut a hole on the drivers side for a face fuel neck to be welded in place, drilled the holes so the headlights can now sit in place, drilled the holes for the wheel arches, stripped the mini (minus the rear screen), rubbed down the boot and gave it a few coats of zinc rich 182 primer, cut the rear bins down so the cage will go in easier. Im sure i did a bit more but thats all i can remember. I didnt bother taking any pics as they wouldnt be very interesting lol.

Haven't looked at this in ages, only seems like a few weeks back that we were talking about finding a sunroof, now you have bought 2! lmao (have you got the other 1 yet?)
Looks ace now with the front on and the sunroof in place! Wish i could be working this quick on mine.

LOL yea iv been working in most of the free time i have now all thats left to do is send it off to the spray booth to be filled and painted, then sort the electrics but as im in Portugal ATM i cant sort out the whole painting issue as they told me they had to delay it....

Ill find out whats going on when i get back.

Oh yea i decided not to buy the other sunroof as i couldnt be bothered with the hastle lol.

WOOOOO the mini is going down to the spray booth tomorrow, so me any a family friend will be sorting out as much of the prep work we can do then, ill try and get some pics of the progress.

Got most of the prep work done today but i forgot my camera so no pics im afraid.

It should be put in primer tomorrow if everything goes to plan.

I went and picked it up today im going ot have a go at soldering it together tonight, it doesnt look very hard at all to be hones.

Well today we got most of the filling done, we also took most of the shell back to bare metal, so tomorrow we have to take a bit more paint back and five a few more bits the final skim fill then i hope it gets put in primer Soz i didnt get the time to take pics but i will make sure i take some tomorrow.

Well iv got the megajolt unit done now, it only took about 30 mins so that was ok and it went together easily ill order a cable off ebay in a while so i can test it
