Yea, lets put some chrome boot hinges and other over the counter goodies on and make it look like all the rest of the minis, forget about the work gone into it and craftsmanship. BAA, BAA.

I'm sure "back in the day" there was a coach built mini with merc headlights? At first glance It only needs a couple wings and a front panel?

Yes Wood and Pickett did a few in the late 60's.And they looked awful too..(but are worth a fortune now).

No wonder why the scene is so 'samey" now. Minis are known to be modified arent they? What a narrow minded thread.

And this is why nobody does anything different these days because it's "wrong" just because a few people don't like it

If you haven't got anything nice to say.....

There's nothing wrong with doing things different. Except when the out come is bleeding ugly. I'll cut the front end off my mini and butcher the lights off of a fiat multipla on as they are renowned for being incredibly beautiful.

The fact it's been for sale for longer then I care to remember is testimony to that

I think a change of colour, a nice interior and losing the god awful rear lights, (which look a lot worse than the Merc front, by the way), and you've got quite a decent W&P replica. It would certainly grab the attention at Mini shows ;-)

That's the one I was thinking off! Pretty smart in its own way.

The one in the eBay link is pretty smart as well, I wouldn't buy it but it's up to the seller what he asks for it - if you don't like it or the price then don't buy it!

I like to see different things, I think it's becoming more frowned upon because there are less and less minis around now anyway - 20/30 years ago when everywhere you looked there was a mini, people didn't think twice about chopping them up
